Furies Volleyball Takes Carolina Day (9/1)

It was an awesome night for the Fury varsity volleyball team as they squared off with the Wildcats of Carolina Day School on Wednesday!  After suffering a tough loss on Tuesday, the Furies came out with an attitude to win--and win they did!  FCDS won the match in three games (25-19, 25-18, 25-14) because of consistent and strong serving, as well as Syndey Hanes' nice serving run to start the match.  That run put FCDS in the lead and the Furies never let CDS take it from them the rest of the match.  Near-perfect passing was displayed by Sarah Allison, Jenny Temas, and Sydney Shaw who all allowed our setters, Emmy Wood and Morgan Barnhardt to run an efficient offense.  Katie Ralston and Lauren Lockwood stepped up in the front row to get kills and points for FCDS.  Good defensive moves were brought on by Allison Hall and Neha Garg in the back court, while Kaitlyn Hadfield did a great job blocking at the net.  The Furies hope to keep this momentum rolling when they return from the long holiday weekend.  The team will travel to Greensboro Day on Friday, September 10, in an effort to bring home another win.
