Furies Softball Beats Charlotte Country Day (3/9)
The varsity softball team earned a 6-2 victory over Charlotte Christian on Tuesday. The Fury offense started in the first inning when Carrie Logie reached base on a bunt single and scored later in the inning. The other Fury offense was provided by Addison Sutton, Jenny Temas, Liza Kate Wall, and Chelsea Beard who each had hits in the game. The Knights came back in the bottom of the first inning to score their only two runs, capitalizing on some untimely FCDS fielding errors. Beard’s performance on the mound shut down the Knight’s offense from that point on however as she recorded eight strikeouts for the game. Sutton did an excellent job as catcher and was a key contributor to the success of the Furies. The entire Fury squad looked much improved and is looking forward to their next contest.
