West Rowan Over Furies Baseball (3/24)

The Falcons of West Rowan High School recorded eight runs on 13 hits on Wednesday against the visiting Furies’ varsity baseball team, who managed eight hits and six runs of their own in the loss.

The West Rowan pitcher did a good job of keeping the Forsyth batters out of hitter counts throughout the game and the Furies struggled to make the necessary adjustments at the plate. There were some bright spots on the offensive end however as Seth Constable had a three-hit day with a double and two runs batted in. FCDS pitchers Adam Griffin and Brandon Culbreth did a good job of pumping strikes and really competing on the mound. Between the two, there was just one walk issued in their six innings of work.   The Fury nine will take the field again on Thursday at home as they face the Forsyth Home Education team at 4:30 p.m.

Furies Baseball Takes Graham High (3/20)

The Furies' (4-2) offense ignited on Saturday against Graham high school, the top-ranked public school 2-A team in North Carolina. The home team topped a talented Graham club 11-1 in five innings at the Forsyth Country Day Invitational.

"Our hitters did a really good job against Cody Dix, a good left-hander who has signed a scholarship to play baseball at UNC-Pembroke next year. Our guys executed in situations all day. We got quality at-bats up and down the line-up and mixed in a couple more homeruns from Garrett Royster and Adam Griffin. Tyler Alberts pitched his best game of the season. After making some quality adjustments, he's become a different guy now on the mound than he was just two weeks ago," stated Head Coach Andy Partin.

Varsity Baseball Beats Southern Alamance 5-3 (3/16)

The Furies (2-2) topped a talented Southern Alamance club Tuesday on the road by a score of 5-3. Furies' right-hander Adam Griffin pitched very well in his first start while Seth Constable led the way on offense with two hits and two runs scored. Brandon Culbreth hit his third homerun of the season for FCDS and Tyler Alberts had a big two-out, two-RBI single.

"We played with more energy and toughness in this game than we have in any other this season. I thought Adam Griffin was outstanding on the mound holding a team that is averaging double digit runs scored to just one unearned run in four innings of work. We got some big hits when we needed them. Overall our guys played well against a very good team," stated Head Coach Andy Partin.
